Introduction to Me

Updated: Nov 7, 2021

Hi there! My name is Gabrielle Kramer and as of this day, I am 20 years old. I will be 21 on February 13th this coming year. Currently I am a transfer student studying at the University of Minnesota, majoring in Interior Design. Prior to this, I obtained my Associate's degree in Social Work through South Central College. After graduating with this degree, I decided I wanted to further my passion. My passion resides with helping people and solving problems for others; this was seen through my Social Work degree and is now seen through my path down Interior Design.

I have a decently-sized family and they are the most important thing to me. I have 3 older sisters who protect me like I am still a baby, and I have a mother and father who are happily married. Luckily, two of my sisters blessed me with a niece and nephew and they have been the most fun addition to the family. I never thought I could love someone so much until I met my niece and nephew, and now all I want to do is protect them. My family has been the biggest support system in my life and I would not be where I am today without their continuous motivation and encouragement. Along with my family, my boyfriend has been an amazing system of support and motivation. He has been supporting me along this journey of my education and discovering my passions, and is an extremely large motivator for me. Overall, my family is my rock. They have pushed me to take on every single challenge thrown my way, and they have supported me and guided me through it. Their words of wisdom and consistent advice are something I will be eternally grateful for.

For as long as I can remember, I have been absolutely obsessed with recreating spaces. I have always had a creative soul, but it is especially seen through my designing of interior spaces. Probably since I was about 14-15, I have been religiously redoing my room. This would be something that happened year-round, if not multiple times a year. It was something I could not control, I needed the space to be perfect and I really wanted it to continuously reflect my transforming style. This is probably why it changed so often- because my style was changing so often. I remember being in about 4th or 5th grade and I had the crazy idea of splatter painting all the walls in my room. Obviously my parents told me no. But then on my birthday that year, they surprised me with a bunch of different colors of paint, and said we could splatter paint one of the four walls. This was my younger self's dream. My style transformed every single year after that. We had moved from our house with the splatter-paint room to a house in the country in about sixth grade. So I had the lucky opportunity of getting to rearrange an entire new space that I had not been familiar with. I think this is when I became the most passionate- when I realized that you could take an empty bland space and make something completely new from it that exuded different feelings than it once did. As a family, we turned this empty new house into our home.

Let's end this introduction with some fun facts about me. I have had dogs around me for my entire life, so they are one of my favorite things in the world. My family has not lived a day without a dog in our lives so let me introduce you to some of the ones we have had. Let's start with Mickie; he is a cocker-spaniel/poodle mix, also known as a Cockapoo. His favorite color is orange and he loves to take naps. Next is Maya- a female St. Bernard who is the most beautiful Beethoven in the world. She loves people. Currently my family has two dogs: an English Springer Spaniel, and a Chihuahua-Pomeranian. The English Springer Spaniel is named Haas and he is about 6 years old. The Chihuahua-Pomeranian is named Teeka and she is 13 years old. If you can't tell- the size of the dog does not matter, we love them all.

I hope this post gave you a brief introduction to who I am and what I am passionate about. If you have any questions, or anything you want to know specifically- please shoot me an email or write a comment on this post. Thank you for taking the time to get to know a little bit more about me; it was very nice to meet you!
